Christmas Wish List From a 7 Year Old in 1915 Will Make You Feel Materialistic

I wrote this last year, and we did go through with it. It was the BEST holiday we’d had in years. Simple, relaxed, and fun! With two months to Christmas, I thought I’d just leave this right here for anyone who’s getting in the spirit.

“Dear Santa Claus,” the boy begins in cursive handwriting. “Will you please send me a box of paints, also a nine cent reader, and a school bag to put them in.”

He modestly continues, “And if you have any nuts, or candy, or toys to spare, would you kindly send me some.” If so, Homer concludes, “You will please a seven year old boy.”

My only comment on this would be, if you are afraid of scaling back, or downsizing your Christmas, because you think you’ve let the spirit of the season get away from you, but you think your kids would be disappointed, your kids might just surprise you.
